PIZARRO CRISTINA SCULPTOR  

Born in Santiago de Chile in September 1947. Login to the University of Chile, Faculty of Applied Arts in 1968, as a student of sculptor Philip Castillo, whom he married later. In 1975 he moved to Amsterdam - Netherlands where he attends the workshop of the sculptor Jan Jacobs. His stay in Europe and the United States allow you to take great knowledge in his capacity as artist.

In 1983 curate and coordinate, together with sculptors Philip Castle and Harold Krusell, the exhibition "Art and Survival of the Planet" at the Museum of Natural History in Santiago which add up to 120 artists. The initiative is accompanied by panel discussions with scientists, artists and aesthetes.

In 1986 he moved to live 2 years Curitiba - Brazil, a city where once again coordinating with the sculptor Felipe Castillo the exhibition "Art for Peace." Solidarity and 100 artists involved in the message.

In 1994 and 1997 is recognized by the Ministry of Education FONDART and monumental sculptures made of stainless steel "Spring", located on the bridge between Isla Negra Seminar and The Quisco, and "Duality", installed at the intersection of Algarrobo.

In 1993 he created with Felipe Castillo Artists Corporation Cultural Ecology Pro which he was president, healing and coordinating exhibitions. Prominent among them "LAND" in Casas de Lo Matta Museum in Santiago, attended by 120 artists. The project included plays, music, poetry, roundtables with the participation of politicians, scientists, poets, among others. It then moved to the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Santiago Pablo Neruda in Isla Negra.

1995 is a curator and coordinator of the Ecology Pro Artists exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago and in the same year he traveled to the Art Gallery of Design in a group show of painting, sculpture and music.

In 1996, coordinating with Felipe Castillo and is curator of the exhibition "Chilean Art in Cuba", Mount involving 10 sculptures and 10 artists for the Museum of the Revolution in Havana, Cuba.

Between 1997 and 2002, is the curator and project coordinator for the Arts Coast, where 12 sculptors with their models have 17 monumental works to be installed from Rocas de Santo Domingo to Algarrobo.

In 1998, together with other members of the Pro Ecology Artists Corporation, manages to obtain the declaration of TYPICAL AREA (area), the coastal area of Isla Negra, awarded by the Ministry of Education in Chile.

Between 2001 and 2002, is the curator and coordinator with the Ambassador Jaime Lagos of the important exhibition "Artists Pro Ecology, Chilean Contemporary Art" in several northern European museums, highlighting Kastrupgard in Copenhagen and Silkeborg, Denmark. It also organizes José Cayuela, cultural attaché in the Motherland, the exhibition of 60 works of art in large format, "Artists of the Earth Chilean Neruda," sponsored by DIRAC, Museum of America in Madrid.

Between 2002-2003 is curator and coordinator of the exhibition Artists and Flora "(30 artists) Museums of Pablo Neruda Santiago, Valparaiso and Isla Negra.
